The Children's Tumor Foundation is a non-profit medical foundation, dedicated to improving the health and well being of individuals and families affected by the neurofibromatoses (NF)
CTF Mission:
Find effective treatments and a cure for NF by funding research and promoting collaboration between scientists in the field.
- Improve clinical care for patients with NF and encourage the development of NF clinics nationwide.
- Provide information and support services for affected patients and families, including youth programs.
- Raise public awareness of NF to generate better understanding and resources to improve the lives of those born with the disorder.
What is NF?
Neurofibromatosis encompasses a set of distinct genetic disorders that causes tumors to grow along various types of nerves. NF can also affect the development of non-nervous tissues such as bones and skin. Neurofibromatosis causes tumors to grow anywhere on or in the body.
